About Us

The Amara Girls Initiative (TAGI) is a registered Canadian not-for-profit, established in 2022, working across Canada and the poverty-affected areas of Sub-Saharan Africa to empower girls, young adults, youth and women through education and social justice.

Our Mission

To work with vulnerable communities β€” helping youth, young adults, children and women, including those affected by HIV/AIDS β€” gain empowerment through education and access to social justice.

Our 2030 Vision

To continuously address the vulnerabilities of children, young people, youth and women β€” especially the girl child β€” through education, health education, community development and agricultural development.

Our Core Values

Commitment, Integrity, Inclusion and Personal Responsibility β€” the ground we stand on in everything we do.

What We Do

Empowering girls β€” in Canada and across the globe

TAGI runs programs in academics, arts, health, life skills, mentorship and peer relations. In Canada we support girls, women and families through community programming β€” food hampers, vouchers, gift cards and clothing packages. Across Sub-Saharan Africa we focus on education, health, community and agricultural development.
